This course does not ask you to push through. It does not offer toxic positivity or inspiration-poster recovery.It meets you exactly where your body is today — and offers a twelve-week path through the creative principles that Julia Cameron developed over twenty-five years, re-framed specifically for those living with physical crisis.

You do not need to be well to do this work. You need only be willing to show up, in whatever form that takes.

What You Will Do Each Week

Adapted from Julia Cameron's foundational tools, these two practices form the backbone of the course. They have been reimagined specifically for those navigating physical crisis.

Practice One

Body Pages

Three pages of longhand writing each morning — or by whatever method your body makes available today.
Dictate if your hands won't cooperate. Type with one finger if that's what's possible. Write from bed. The form matters less than the practice: a daily clearing of what the body holds, so the mind can breathe. There is no wrong way to do Body Pages. There is only the showing up.

Practice Two

Tender Dates

A gentle, intentional excursion — alone — to nourish your creative and sensory self within the reality of your current capacity. A Tender Date is not a test of what your body can do. It is an offering to what your body is. Ten minutes with a compelling documentary. A slow walk to the end of the block. A long look at something beautiful. The practice of receiving, deliberately, something just for you.

Each week opens with a physical crisis lens — a framing of that week's theme in terms of what it means to navigate life with a body in crisis — followed by the core creative recovery teaching.

Complete the Exercises

Four original writing exercises per week, with reflection prompts. Your responses are saved privately to your account. No one reads them. They are yours.

Answer the Weekly Check-In

Four questions at the end of each week to integrate what you have experienced. Then mark the week complete and move forward when you're ready.

If a week takes you two weeks, that is the right pace. If you need to rest between exercises, rest. If your body prevents you from doing Body Pages in the traditional way, adapt them. The practices here are guidelines, not requirements. The only requirement is honest engagement with yourself.
